Bally's weaseled my pregnant wife into their deceitful contract while I was overseas in Iraq. Upon my return, I decided (against my intuition) to join as a family add on, so we could work out together and bring the tike to the "daycare". Turns out the crappy little play pen for the kids is only available during peak hours and even then they arbitrarily change the hours without any notice. So we are forced to go during peak hours which is like lifting weights in the middle of a mosh pit. To top it off, the staff is snobby and unproffesional either acting like you've crashed their party when you walk in the front door or just ignoring you completely. Not to mention the disgusting swamp they deem a pool and the numerous other disgraces to good hygiene present throughout the club. In fact the only time I've witnessed any cleaning is when they vacumm around my feet while I'm trying to workout. Long story short: we have tried to back out of the contract saying that my wife and I are being stationed overseas sans Bally's. So far they have ducked our request and artfully dodged giving any meaningful feedback on the situation. I Friggin hate Bally's and will NEVER consider rejoining one!

Ladies and Gentleman, here is the lesson for today. If your credit report contains an error, you are entitled to dispute that error with the credit bureau. The bureau, in turn, must send the dispute to the creditor (Bally's) who has a reasonable period of time (usually 30 days) to either disagree with you, agree with you, or not respond. Now lISTEN carefully. Most creditors will not even bother to respond to these letters from the credit bureaus. Why? BEcause they are too busy with more important things. If the creditor does not respond to the credit bureau, the bureau must do whatever you say. For example, let's say your credit report says you owe Bally's $2,000. Let's say you believe you were mislead by BAlly's, and believe you do not owe Bally's $2,000. Simply send a letter to the credit bureau stating that fact. LISTEN carefully again. Do not send the entire, long story as to why you think you do not owe the $2,000. The Bureau could care less about your problems. Simply state that you do not owe the amount stated in your credit report, and be done with it. Less is more.
Now, if you are smart, you might have thought that once the error is removed from your credit report, it will reappear at a future date. The law says that if the credit bureau reinserts information on your report, they must give you 5 days written notice first.
Ok, now, does everyone who has an error on their credit from Bally's understand what you need to do? To learn more about the Fair Credit Reporting Act, go to www.pirg.org. this is a non-profit, pro-consumer organization that can help you.
For the addresses of the three credit bureaus, call the toll-free operator and ask for Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax or search the internet for credit bureaus.
PLEASE stop complaining about problems with your credit report unless you follow these simple instructions.
Have a great day!
